My wife paid the extra $$$ to get a reputable brand dishwasher I would say 3 - 4 years ago from Masters. Worked fine for the first 2 years then rack supports started to break as did the front plate. I am the one who opens and closes the dishwasher and I have been very gentle realising the front plate was only plastic. Not long after the front plate broke the Half Load button fell out and last night the dishwasher won’t turn on at all. Very disappointing after spending the extra to keep my wife’s mind at ease. After reading all of the reviews it seems I will be looking for a new done. Thanks Bosch.
Obviously all products by all brands are not made to last. Our Bosch SGS65M08AU/15 dishwasher worked fine until one day recently it just decided to die on us. We have had the front fascia panel Crack on us twice (still broken) but this is out of the blue.
We emptied it thinking it had finished but then noticed water still in the bottom. Since then there has been absolutely no power. Very disappointed as we brought Bosch thinking it had a good and reputable name. Don't know from all the other reviews whether it's worth getting someone out to repair it.
Such a shame. Dishwasher washed well but didnt always dry well and like most of these reviews has now just died. Just out of the extended warranty period too. It was the first dishwasher I had purchased and thought a Bosch would last a long time with light use for just me. Very disappointed in what is obviously a fault with this model seeing the amount of reviews with the same issue. I certainly can't afford the $500 most were quoted to fix the machine right before Christmas. Extremely disappointing!
Our experience of Bosch has been damaged by our experience with this dishwasher. It appears that there is a common problem with these control boards even if they are not in the recall list. Expected life expectancy of a dishwasher 10+ years.
Died at 6 years old during a cycle. No lights on the panel, water still in the bottom. Looking at the reviews of people with the same issue there is no point throwing good money after bad.
So so disappointed, would have considered a new Bosch but not now. I fear for my 18 month old Bosch washer and will avoid Bosch in future appliance purchases as I’m not paying any more to fix this one.
There was a time when I loved this dishwasher, and was rapt in it's performance. But I have clearly been let down (as I can see now, along with many other families) I thought that by spending that extra hard earned money for a 'quality' product, i would get some longevity with this dishwasher. After all, you get what you pay for right? NOT WITH BOSCH!
It seems the same known problem as what I have read on other reviews on here!! Which i can only conclude that this is a known problem by bosch! The CONTROL BOARD!!!! Why should i throw good money after bad to be let down by Bosch on an expensive repair, when clearly we all should expect so much more from a reputable brand. Or so i thought. Technician call out, replacement part(s) and labour costs.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and counting. So, it appears that these dishwashers have a definite problem with the control board.
Like almost everybody else below my dishwasher just wouldn't work one day after 4 years of pretty casual use. An email to Bosch got the usual response along the lines of 'you will have to pay for a technician to attend and prepare a quote' seriously this is supposed to be a quality item! So it appears im left with the choice of paying almost as much as a new dishwasher to fix this thing or throw it on the street and buy a new one.
It's fair to say that this is a known fault, how are we supposed to know what is quality and what isn't?! We bought our Bosch SGS65M08AU dishwasher in Sept 2011. In the first 3 years after buying it, we were mostly using it only when we had some friends coming to our place perhaps once every week or two as we did not have any kids and it was just me and my wife and we did not really have many dishes to fill the dishwasher. Windows 10 joystick mapper.
It was only after my son was born that we started to use it more regularly and it stopped working right after his seconds birthday last week. I spent $125 for a Bosch technician to come to our home only to tell me the same thing that most people in this forum have experienced and I was told that the main controller board is broken and that they will give me a quote later for replacing it. After a few days and chasing them up, I was told that it will cost me $390 plus the labor cost to replace the board. So it will cost me around $600 in total to get it fixed!!! We always considered Bosch as a high-quality brand and that is why we were happy to pay more for it and we were very happy with the quality of the washing but as it can be seen from the complaints on this page, this product obviously had a design fault and it just dies after only 3-5 years depending on how many times you use it.
We always used the best quality dishwashing tablets and it still looks quite new. Really disappointed. We bought the Bosch SGS65M08AU dishwasher in 2011 and it was absolutely fantastic.A gift for my hardworking partner (who absolutely loved it) we spent more money because we thought Bosch was a reliable product. That was until recently when when our dishwasher decided to pack it in.no warning just got up one morning to a dishwasher with water in the bottom and no power at all.tried all the suggested fix its.no go.called out a technician $$$$ the motherboard is gone and will cost mega bucks to get fixed.am loathe to repair or buy another Bosch dishwasher. Am now looking at another brand of dishwasher to replace what I thought was a reliable product. Not Happy Jan Purchased.
I bought this machine 5 yrs ago and like so many other reports on this page it suddenly died one day, no warning just won't turn on, no lights, nothing. Up until this point it worked like a dream, washing really well. Its had an extremely easy life here, on average it would only be used 1-2 times per week so really I would expect it should be lasting much longer than 5yrs. I called Bosch to lodge a service call and have been quoted $88- call out then $9.90 every 6 mins, plus parts of course. Although I'm a little confused they mentioned something along the lines of if the problem is covered under the consumer warranty Bosch will cover the cost, otherwise I will have to cover the repair costs?
Given there have been so many similar sounding issues I'm not keen to fork out any money up front. Would I be better to cancel this call out and just buy a new dishwasher? I feel like this could easily be handing good money after bad. I'm so disappointed with this machines short life. We are very disappointed with our Bosch dishwasher!
Bosch Dishwasher Installation Manual
We bought it circa September 2011 and just one day out of the blue early December 2016, the dishwasher just stopped working (no power or whatsoever)! Called Bosch and they ask to get their serviceperson in (obviously high call out charges) to check what is wrong.
Since it was close to Christmas, they can only get someone in after more than a week (not impressed). I decided to call a local serviceperson and he confirm the motherboard died (100%). He personally recommended me to purchase a new dishwasher instead of repairing it as the cost of the motherboard was a few hundreds dollars! Came upon this page and realise I'm not the only person having this issue! Very disappointing as we were hoping Bosch brand will last longer than any other brands. They should recall this product as everyone seems to have similar issues! We purchased the Bosch SGS65M08AU/15 dishwasher from Harvey Norman 5 years ago - we spent the extra money to go with a brand that seemed to have the reputation for great engineering and reliability.
We've had no complaints with the dishwasher up until now - it cleaned dishes well and was relatively quiet - what we were expecting from Bosch. However, a few days ago we put the dishwasher on the delay start before going out, and returned to find it had stopped mid-cycle, hadn't emptied the water and will not power on. No lights or anything. The power point is working fine, and I've checked that the filters are all clean and there's nothing blocking the impeller / pump etc.
I've called Bosch and they simply passed on the name of a repairer. It will cost me a minimum of $110 for the call out fee plus extra for any time they spend on it. I've since discovered this site and it appears that there are many others who have had the same problem, and that the control board is the problem ($500+ to replace) - ouch! Once labour is added I'm getting close to the price of a new machine! I've been a fan of Bosch in the past, but I don't think I'll return for a Bosch dishwasher. Last week, I would have given 5 stars, but given it's died after such a short time, I can only give 2 stars.
Looks like I'll be hand washing for a while. Bought Bosch dishwasher with belief that German quality trumps any other brands. Even got a friend and my brother to get a Bosch dishwasher. To our dismay, the dishwasher broke down just after about 5 years since we got it.
Loaded it after one of of our parties over the new year, set the delay timer hoping to clear the dishes in the morning, only to find that the dishwasher didn't complete the cycle. Can't to power up since then. Checked power point, water clogs and all other tips given by the manual, effort was futile. We ended up washing all the plates by hand. Seems like the problem is due to a defect inherent in this model. Would have expected Bosch product to last longer.
Please help to restore my faith in Bosch product before we start looking elsewhere. Was a great dishwasher unit it just stopped, no power, nothing, did not finish the wash was still full of water, looking at trouble shooting and looks like a inner board problem, from the reviews i have seen, it will be too much to repair, i won't be buying a bosch again, i guess thats why this model is discontiuied Though after buying a expensive dishwasher it would last a lot longer only got 3 and a half years out of this one, got a better run out of a cheaper dishwasher last time it lasted for 6 years, i think i will go back to the cheaper options. Hi We have had the exact same problem as everyone else on here. Dishwasher was working fine and then the next day no power at all.
Called Bosch who said they would organise a technician to have a look, the technician then advised that we would have to pay $125 upfront for them to come and do a report to send to Bosch and then Bisch could refund us later if it was their fault. After reading these reviews it is obvious the fault is the powerboard and I refuse to pay $125 for them to tell us that.
Can anyone that has had their dishwasher fixed please let me know if it is the left hand side control module or the right hand side one that was the cause? It seems ridiculous that it will cost over $500 in parts and labour to fix a 4 year old $850 dishwasher! Any advice would be appreciated Thanks.
